Life in lock-down for one 5 year old during the pandemic

At five, Jesse is too young to understand much about what is happening in the news, and we’ve tried to shield him from the worst of it. All he knows is that we all have to stay home because there’s a virus.

Jesse hasn’t played with any other children since the beginning of March, and it makes me sad that he’s lonely and missing out on some early formative experiences at his amazing school and with his friends. But at the same time, I don’t think it’s safe enough yet for him to go back to school. I have tried to show my feelings within these images. I’m sure there are many parents who have the same worries during the pandemic.

This photo essay aims to show the story of how Jesse is feeling and coping during these strange and difficult times.
